Shipping FAQ:
How can I get lower shipping rates? The shipping quotes on this page are supplied by UPS. UPS raised their rates approximately 5-6% in January. We recognize this and will do everything we can to keep shipping rates and prices low. When the shipping weight is over 250 pounds (bulk), UPS shipping rates are discounted. It is a little trick we wanted you to know.
Why do you separate product prices and shipping? Most states require you to pay sales tax on products even when purchased online, but not on shipping. When prices are bundled together, you have to pay tax on both. This costs you more. We want to save you money and help you legally pay less in taxes.
Why are shipping costs at other places lower or free? Either they ship significantly more and can get a much bigger discount or they are hiding your shipping costs in the prices of their products (see above).
What is the best option? If you are buying small items that total less than 250 pounds, you might be able to save a dollar or two at our competition, but we usually beat the competition PLUS save you money on sales tax when you prepare with 250 pounds or more of preparedness items.
